The
system manages several payment systems
based upon whether the lanes are manual
or automatic.
The
Manual Lanes accept the following forms
of payment:
-Cash
-Credit Card
-Ratification of pre-printed vouchers
-Ratification of exemptions
-Smart card with or without contact (chip) with various functions:
Multi-trip
pre-paid card: contains an amount of
authorized passes.
Current Account card (pre or post paid): identifies a current account, allows
for passage if the account has funds (pre-payment) or adds the trip to the
account for its later payment (post-payment).
Neighborhood card: the neighborhood resident purchases
a number of trips at a special price and can pass as
long as the amount lasts. It can be recharged in the
lane itself.
Exemption card: allows for passage
until its expiration date.
-The
AVI (Automatic Vehicle Identification)
lanes automatically recognize the automatic
toll "TAG" located on the
windshield when the vehicle enters
the radio frequency detection zone;
identifies the TAG, and once passage
has been granted, the updated data
is recorded and the passage gate is
activated.
Different types of tags are presented:
- Pre-paid Tag: allows for loading a certain number of trips
- Current Account Tag: stores the number of trips made which are later charged
for.
